WebRunner Turns Webapps Into Desktop Apps [Downloads]

Firefox: The WebRunner Firefox extension turns any webapp into a standalone application in just a few clicks.

Once you install the extension, you can build a desktop application based on nearly any webapp, including the likes of Gmail, Google Plus, or even Angry Birds. When we last took at look at WebRunner, it is was able to create shortcuts to browser windows, but the functionality stopped there. Now you can utilize the same basic premise but add or subtract functionality based on your needs.

After installing the extension, the process only takes a few clicks. First, visit the webapp of your choice in Firefox. From there, click Tools > Create WebRunner App and you're on your way. You can choose from a variety of options, including enabling and disabling basic browser-style functions, save locations, removing status bars, and picking out your icon. Save the file and you have a brand new application that runs independently of a your browser.
