Orlando Health cancer center expands to full cancer treatments

Orlando Health

Dr. Akash Nanda, a radiation oncologist with MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, greets his patient Rupert Cole, of Ocoee, at Orlando Health's new cancer treatment facility.

The Orlando Health?s cancer treatment facility at Health Central is now offering full medical oncology, chemotherapy and infusion, Orlando Health announced Aug. 30.

The 16,500-square-foot clinic, which opened in May with radiation and oncology services, has 20 full-time employees and is now a full cancer treatment facility. Orlando Health bought 171-bed Health Central in April.

Patients who visit the facility are seen by MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando oncologists. The center also features one of Central Florida?s two Varian TrueBeam medical linear accelerator machine for breast, lung and prostate cancer patients.
