Contract extension for Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy could come soon

Though four years remain on Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy?s current contract, negotiations for a new deal appear to have accelerated, the Tulsa World reported.

Multiple sources told the newspaper that Gundy?s agent, Jimmy Sexton, met Thursday with school president Burns Hargis and AD Mike Holder.

"I've made it real clear that I want to be here a long time," Gundy said on Monday. "... I'm willing to sign up as fast as possible. I think it's good for the university, I think it's good for our football team, I think it's good for our coaches to continue to move forward as fast as we can."

The Cowboys finished ranked No. 3 in the country last year after an 11-1 season. Though they just missed out playing in the BCS National Championship Game, the Cowboys are headed to their first BCS bowl, as they?ll play Stanford on Jan. 2 in the Fiesta Bowl.
