The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Association is planning a birthday celebration in Dr. King's honor Jan. 16 at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
A gathering is planned at 5:30 p.m. at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, at East California Avenue and South Owens Street. A bus will be available for those needing transportation to and from the church, which is on nearby Haley Street.
This year's celebration is themed "The Dream That Changed the Course of America."
