Hundreds of kids to fish in downtown Little Rock - Arkansas Online

LITTLE ROCK ? Hundreds of children from central Arkansas are expected for Little Rock's annual fishing derby at a downtown park.

The city's Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting its 28th annual Fishing Derby on Thursday at MacArthur Park that is open to children ages 6 to 15. It will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Young anglers are only allowed to use cane poles during the derby.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is stocking the pond. A limited number of fish will also be tagged and any child who catches a tagged fish will be eligible to win a prize.

The first boy and girl to catch a prize fish will each win a bike.
