Work Life of An Esthetician ? Beauty, Health and Fitness

In this article I will be going over what it is that an esthetician does in their career. As you may or may not know, an esthetician is someone who provides skin care services in a variety of environments. These environments include spas, medi-spas, retail locations, and many other cosmetology related environments. An esthetician provides skin care services to sometimes ailing patients, these services are designed to hydrate and replenish the skin health of a client. They are able to do this to a patient?s skin by utilizing a variety of facials and full body treatments.

Estheticians are trained in the body?s anatomy which helps them to identify skin related elements as well as be capable of referring a patient to a doctor if needed. They also provide head and neck massages as well as hair removal via waxing and electrolysis. Not all Estheticians provide the same variety of services, it can differ depending on the level of training and education that an esthetician receives. Skin care education is very important as the skills, use of instruments, hygiene, and knowledge of basic anatomy as well as physiology will help an esthetician to perform their daily job duties as well as be able to recognize skin ailments.

Estheticians are often found working in salons, spas, and department stores. In addition, many estheticians also open their own businesses to service their private clients, as well as gain clients publicly. It may be interesting to know that many estheticians also work with cosmetic products in their line of work or become sales representives for cosmetic firms. It should come as no surprise that in order for an Esthetician to offer their clients quality service they?ll need to keep up with the latest and greatest in science as well as the world of cosmetology. This will ensure a successful career for any esthetician. In my opinion, the best estheticians are usually those that have a natural passion for helping others as well as beautifying them.

In close, an Esthetician can have a varying degree of duties depending on the type of Esthetician, licensing that an Esthetician may hold, and where this Esthetician provides his or her services. Estheticians may work in many different environments which can often cause their job duties to change. Lastly, some Estheticians choose to go into business for themselves and are often found providing services within their homes and professional offices.

I hope this information about Esthetician duties helps you in your quest for more knowledge about these amazing skin care providers.
