Ryan Bertrand has lost his Twitter voice

Ryan Bertrand has decided being on the social networking site is a hassle he can do without

RYAN BERTRAND has deleted his Twitter account following the controversy that erupted over his reaction to claims he had withdrawn from the England squad with a sore throat.

The illness turned out to be a viral infection which prevented the Chelsea and England left-back playing in Friday?s World Cup qualifier with San Marino and yesterday he was ruled out of tomorrow?s match in Poland.

Bertrand had let rip on Twitter last week, saying: ?Just to clarify.... Its not a ?sore throat? Im ill. swollen glands in my neck... And constant headache for 3 days now and freezin cold.

?Do you think a ?sorethroat? could stop me being apart of a match for my club or country? #your f******nuts this is what every boy dreams of.?

Although Bertrand was not as offensive as Blues team-mate Ashley Cole, who made a direct attack on the FA after the John Terry hearing, he realised his error.

Bertrand tweeted: ?sorry if i offended anyone by swearing as i don?t encourage that type of language, was just disappointed at the thought of people thinking i only have a sore throat... which is not the case...?

But Bertrand has decided being on the social networking site is a hassle he can do without and he has told friends that he will never use it again.
