Reply - USVI Moving Center

So we are starting to plan for early retirement in a few years and would love to hear your opinions.

We will be making a first PMV to VI, BVI and Antigua later this month. We aim to whittle it down to a few places and then rent for 3-6 months before diving in.

We are a UK/US couple who have lived all over the world for the last 30 years. We can handle high prices, potholes in the roads, cistern water, power outages, but high crime is a concern for us - we want to relax now. We are also keen sailors.

We could get residency on BVI or Antigua but USVI would be more convenient in that respect.

On USVI, we'd be happier on STJ because of the crime, even though it's much more expensive

Hawaii - we lived the two years and loved it. Perfect climate and beautiful. Negatives are that the sailing there is extremely limited and that it's so remote from Europe.
